The Linux Foundation announced the first release of the open-source Middleware Agnostic Messaging API. It leverages the AMQP Bridge, which integrates OpenMAMA and AMQP for interoperability among messaging middleware.
IIT Software is offering full implementation of the Advanced Message Queuing Protocol (AMQP) specification 1.0 with its messaging system SwiftMQ and as a result complete integration with the Java Message Service standard (JMS).
Kaazing, the maker of "Web Socket" technology, has joined the AMQP Working Group.

A big thank-you to all who participated in the December Connect-a-thon that took place at Microsoft HQ in Seattle. It was a great success and definitely moved us closer to releasing the final version of AMQP 1.0.
Building on the success of our first AMQP connectathon, twelve people from six firms gathered at VMware’s head office in London, UK, to continue to refine and clarify AMQP 1.0 by testing the interoperability of their different implementations.
