1-0 Roadmap
Define products needed for 1-0 roadmap
Have published PR2
What do we need to deliver to get to Recommendation
- JMS Mapping?
- Management?
- Prototype?
- DTX?
- SOAP over AMQP?
- AMQP 0-x mapping?
- Addressing?
Is the prototype something to prove to ourselves that the spec is implementable? Do we need a full blown prototype or reference implementation to get to 1-0 recommendation.
We need to all contribute where we can, and track to make sure we meet timescales.
GS: don't believe prototype is necessary to move into recommendation
JOH: Agree - that would be dangerous path
CT: What does it take for an org to become comfortable
GS: No issue if companies feel they need to do prototyping, but need to set timelines
CT: don't want to commit resource in order to make others comfortable
MA: How do we get to two implementations
CT: That's a different vote - not the vote to recommendation
JOH: This is a vote about comfort
RS: There was some confusion as to which stage we were in
JOH: We are in public review
AB: Next step needs to be for each company needs to take themselves in order them to be comfortable.
RG: Firms should report weekly on their progress against their blocking issues
JOH: Does 1-0 cause a loss of functionality vs existing AMQP specs
RG: I believe that at "go to market" we need additional specification areas
GS: Agree that this would be a good way to go forward
AB: Can individual companies veto
JOH: There is no veto, however at least four of the original members need to vote yes
MA: Need to grade comments that come in as to whether it requires a new PR documentation
AB: Comments should go into JIRA
JOH: Work out end date for PR2
Recommendation vote will be on the core spec
Will formally will respond to all JIRAd comments
Normal majority voting will apply
Obligation of each company to detail what they are doing to make themselves comfortable
Companies need to report back on their progress
AB: Need a target date for people to describe how they are going to get comfortable
JOH: Need a mid-February date for when blocking issues are raised
GS: Companies should have time to do investigative work
RS: The two weeks should be for people to define how they will become comfortable
ACTION: Each company to report within 2 weeks what they feel they need to do to get comfortable, and a deadline by which that work will be completed.
Debate may occur if the timelines seem overly long
Offsite
Suggesting May
Want to have time to prepare whitepapers covering JMS Mapping, SOAP Mapping etc, Recommendation
RG, AB, GS, CT: We should have recommendation before we do offsite
